![]() Over the last 3+ years, Cole helped SRPED, the City of Canton, and Fulton County create several new programs, and apply for and receive numerous grants. SRPED represents the municipalities within Fulton County on all community and economic development related planning, programs, initiatives, new business recruitment, expansion, and retention. Prior to becoming one of the founders of Hometown Consulting, Cole was the Executive Director of the Spoon River Partnership for Economic Development (SRPED) in Canton, Illinois. Peoria Magazine - Forty Leaders Under 40 - 2022 Award Recipient Matt and his wife Tracy have four children and reside in Morton, Illinois.īachelor of Business Administration – Lincoln College Matt currently serves as the part-time City Administrator for the City of Delavan as well as managing partner of Hometown Consulting. Some examples of collaborative approaches include the planning and installation of shipping containers for outdoor seating by the local restaurants, as well as, public art that can be found installed at street level for pedestrians to enjoy. Matt also helped to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem that fostered a creative, collaborative, business environment, which led to what Peoria Heights is known for today. In this capacity Matt was able to implement new TIF Districts and a Business Development District (BDD). This work was followed by 10 years serving as Administrator for the Village of Peoria Heights. His primary duties included project management, site selection and assisting with negotiating redevelopment deals. After working for East Peoria, Matt was the General Manager for a commercial real estate development company. While in this position, he focused on Tax Increment Financing, Enterprise Zone programming and the early planning stages for what is now known as the Levee District shopping center. His current and prior roles have given him an in-depth understanding of municipalities and their abilities to create growth and change.įrom 2002-2006, Matt was the Director of Planning and Community Development for the City of East Peoria. Matt has over 20 years of experience in economic development, planning & zoning and municipal administration.
